Anesthesiologist, 2 Positions, Honolulu, HI
Position Duties: Provide medical anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgery in a broad spectrum of surgical procedures. Manage a patient’s care prior, throughout and in the immediate post-operative period, including managing any pre-existing medical conditions before surgery and pain management in the immediate post-operative period. Provide expert consultation on many issues pertaining to a patient’s care, including pain management, anticoagulation, and airway management.
Position Qualifications: Must have Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Foreign equivalent degree accepted. Must have completed at least a 36-month residency in Anesthesiology. Must have a valid Hawaii state medical license. Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must pass pre-employment drug test and must be able to comply with all facility credentialing requirements.
Rate of Pay: $320,000.00 – $376,000.00 per year

Job Description:
Provides pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation; recovers appropriate health history; ensures patient identification; recommends, requests, and evaluates pertinent diagnostic studies; documents pre-anesthetic evaluation; obtains informed consent for anesthesia; selects and /or administers pre-anesthetic medications.
Provides anesthesia induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
Performs and manages regional anesthetic including, but not limited to subarachnoid and epidural blocks, intravenous regional anesthesia, transtracheal, topical and local infiltration blocks.
Manages patient’s fluids, blood, electrolytes, and acid-base balance.
Provides perianesthetic invasive and non-invasive monitoring utilizing current standards and techniques.
Documents anesthesia-related care in a thorough and timely manner.
Identifies and manages emergency situations.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an approved nurse anesthesia program by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia. Must meet education and license requirements for State of Hawaii. Current Hawaii RN license. Current BLS/HCP card. Certified by AANA.
Preferred: Current ACLS certification. Experience as a CRNA. Current Hawaii APRN license.
